Community Events
create and join casual events
We love seeing the community at our church and want to provide a way for you to connect with each other. We’d love to see people planning their own hikes, pickleball days, and movie nights and inviting others into the fun! To do this, we will be using Slack, a great app that allows you to connect with the people in our church. You can post about a casual event to Slack and everyone on Slack can see the event and choose whether to participate. There are several event “channels” you can choose to join - community events, young adults events, women’s ministry, & men’s ministry.
If you’d like to join Slack to view the community events, please fill out this form:
If you would like to plan a casual event, please follow the guidelines below:
1) Please don’t plan events alone - bring along one or two others just in case no one else can join in the fun! We hope you’ll generally just be inviting more people along to something you’re already doing.
2) Although these are not official GCC events, we still want to use discernment in the events connected to our church. In light of this, please don’t plan any events centered around alcohol or smoking (ie: no Beer Thirty gatherings, Whiskey and the Word, or similar events).
3) Choose a date, time, & location - post these details to the desired channel in Slack.
We recommend enabling notifications so you don't miss out on the fun! Check out the guide below to learn how to use Slack. If you have any questions, email Amber.
