BAPTISM
Baptism is a public proclamation for Christians, declaring that God is the savior of their life. It is a symbol of being brought from death to life through Christ’s death and resurrection. We regularly celebrate this new life in Christ through testimonies and baptisms.
Baptism Class
Our baptism class is held quarterly. It is a great first step for anyone who is interested in being baptized or anyone wants a clearer understanding of what baptism is and why it matters. We’ll cover the gospel, the meaning of baptism, and how baptism is practiced at GCC.
Interested in getting baptized?
If you’re interested in getting baptized, our process has three steps, and we’ll guide you through each one. First, you’ll attend one of our baptism classes (offered four times a year) to learn what baptism is and what it means to follow Jesus. Next, if you’d like to take the next step, you’ll meet with a staff member to talk through your questions, hear your faith story, and help you discern whether you’re ready for baptism. Finally, you’ll write a short testimony—your story of how God has been at work in your life and how you’ve come to trust and follow him more. You’ll share your testimony with the church as a public declaration of your decision to follow Christ, and then you’ll be baptized.
If you’re ready to take your next step and be notified about our next baptism class, fill out the form below. You’ll receive an email when registration opens for the next baptism class.
