Discipleship
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
The Lord Jesus has given us the mission to make more disciples of him everywhere in the world. Not only does this include reaching new people with the gospel, but it also includes teaching existing followers of Jesus how to increasingly follow him with their life. This crucial work is called discipleship and it is a central goal of all of the church’s activity.
An essential way we practice discipleship is through discipleship groups. In discipleship groups, you will meet regularly with one or a few people of the same sex to discuss discipleship materials or the Bible, hold each other accountable as you take steps to grow together, and pray with each other. This is one of the most effective ways to grow as a follower of Jesus!

The discipleship lessons below are a great resource describing the foundational habits that characterize the life of faithful disciples of Jesus. More importantly, they are a simple and reproducible tool to equip anyone for the work of discipleship! Anyone who goes through these lessons in a discipleship group can then multiply and begin teaching others how to follow Jesus in a new group.
